Max von Marktl is a stunning  2 year old, long-haired German Shepherd. In his previous life, Max was tethered outside 24/7 in a small cement area. He learned how to make the best of his situation. He lived with a small dog and, when his previous owners turned on the hose to spray him, he welcomed the attention -- hence his love for water. When he was relinquished to the rescue, his entire world changed. Max’s story is one for celebration as he has learned so much so quickly, though he just might need one of his buddies at the rescue to introduce him to someone new. He is eager to please, knows his basic commands and takes treats gently. He is good on leash and may pull out of excitement, but he responds quickly to corrections. He meets most dogs with ease and enjoys his pack walks. (No cats please.) He loves toys and can self-entertain; however, fill up a kiddie pool and Max dives right in. In playgroups, Max is comfortable and enjoys playing fetch, but he's not a fan of dominant dogs. When invited to play,  his excitement is palpable, and he is learning how to manage his enthusiasm. So, in just a short time, Max has come so far, and now he needs his very own people to celebrate with him.
